Supporting statement

Note: all applicants must complete this section.

Please use this space to briefly answer the following questions:
What Teaching Experience do you have this year? (you need to be doing a minimum of 15 hours teaching). Please indicate where your teaching hours will be/have been allocated. What types of teaching is this (e.g. supporting in seminars, lectures or labs, conducting tutorials, marking student work, online teaching etc)? How will the course fit with your current role?

How will you ensure that you have sufficient time to complete the course, alongside your research and other commitments? (the programme runs for 6 months, during which time you need to commit to the 6 core workshops, online learning and additional reading and then the submission of a portfolio of evidence). There is some flexibility in the programme but applicants should consider the time commitment alongside other work.

Additional needs or requests

We are committed to supporting individual participants on this programme. Therefore it is helpful to know about any specific needs or requests in advance so that we can discuss any appropriate reasonable adjustments with you. This might be related to:
- disability or learning difference; you may identify as neurodiverse;
- something culturally significant; you may need prayer time or have specific dietary preferences;
- family or caring responsibilities; travel time to campus;
- access to resources; IT or study space to enable you to complete the course.

If you would like to tell us about anything in particular, please do so in the box below. We will then contact you, ahead of the programme, to discuss your needs. Any information declared will remain confidential and within the course team. However, you are not obliged to disclose anything you do not wish to.

Course requirements

Supervisor and Mentor

Your supervisor should support your participation on the course and we would invite you to contact them and discuss your application. We would ordinarily email them, out of courtesy, to indicate that you have been offered a place on the programme. If you agree to us making contact with your supervisor, please could you tick the yes button below and supply their name and email address.

Confirmation that we can contact your supervisor

All APP PGR participants should have a teaching mentor who can support and guide them on matters of teaching during the programme. Mentors also observe participant's teaching or provide an authentication of practice. Your mentor should ideally be a more experienced colleague and teacher in your department/discipline specialism but does not have to be your supervisor/line manager.

Can you identify a subject mentor who can support you on APP PGR? We will contact your mentor to confirm that they are willing to support you and to explain to them the requirements of the programme. If you agree to this contact, please could you tick the yes button below and supply the name and email address of your mentor. You would usually contact them separately to get their agreement initially before we contact them.

Attendance and dates

Please choose which Route you would like to attend, or indeed, if you are flexible. Please look carefully at the dates and check your diary.
We periodically take photos during our sessions. These are primarily used for participants to refer to but are sometimes used for marketing and publicity. Please confirm if you are happy for your images to be used for publicity related to the course.
I hereby declare that the information and details in this application form are true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
