Commended - Jodie Lucas (Warwick Business School)

I am a passionate educator teaching a range of WBS programmes, including UG, Masters MBA and am Academic Director for the UG Placement Year. My motivation for joining HE was to belong to a team and provide me an opportunity to collaborate with students, drawing on my industry background to help them form connections between their student learning experience and the broader accounting workplace. In a discipline which can often be viewed as dry, I cherish every light bulb moment and every student word of thanks for the difference my teaching has made to their journey. I hope through my statement I can articulate my passion for both my discipline, the profession as a whole and for the inclusive and encouraging learning environment I strive to create through my teaching pedagogy.

About Jodie

Jodie joined WBS Accounting group, as a professionally qualified accountant of 30 years, in August 2022 having no previous experience in public sector HE.
