My enterprise project

My enterprise motivations

Right now I am developing "B-Locked Escape Rooms" for an entry into the national Apprentice competition. Escape Rooms are locked and decorated rooms which contain participants for one hour while they try escape by solving puzzles and riddles. It’s a bit like playing a computer game, but in real life! These are already popular in Asia and I won the Warwick Apprentice business scheme with this project.

I did an internship in a large corporation, but I didn’t really feel connected to the project I was working on. I didn’t even know the people I was doing it for. Now I feel like I’m actually creating something new and it’s very exciting because the more I contribute, the more it grows. I like to be in charge; I like to feel the responsibility.

My enterprise reflections & visions

At this point, we’re negotiating space for the Escape Rooms – it would be great for us to have a place on campus to develop our project. We are also seeking funding to contract a manufacturer that makes decorations for the theatre. After we’ve done the national Apprentice competition we will need more help from experienced entrepreneurs to take the business forward.

It’s exciting and because I’m working on something that is unestablished, you never know where your project is going to go and how big it’s going to become.
