Undergraduate Enterprise Support Scheme

UESS is an 8 week summer programme that provides support and enterprise skills development for undergraduate students who want to work on a real business opportunity or spin-out idea developed by a Warwick researcher, assess market applicability and submit a business plan outlining how to take the idea forward. You will receive expert advice from Warwick Ventures, Student Careers and Skills, plus members of Warwick Business School.

In the UESS you will:

  • receive a week long programme of on-campus training and support to develop your enterprise skills and business acumen
  • assess the commercial viability of potential entrepreneurial business ideas posed by academics
  • develop commercial entrepreneurial skills, essential for working within a large corporate, SME or for yourself
  • receive business mentoring from Warwick Ventures and ongoing learning support from Student Careers and Skills
  • present a market analysis and assessment of commercial viability at the end of the scheme
  • receive a bursary of £1,000 to cover your expenses
  • receive a certificate of UESS completion

Programme dates: Monday 11 July 2016 – Friday 2 September 2016


  • Undergraduate students only

  • Must be available for the entirety of the scheme between 11 July and 2 September 2016

  • Must be available to attend in person at the university for a week’s training between 11-15 July 2016

  • Must be available to attend presentation day at the university on Friday 2 September 2016
