Phil worked on various IATL modules and projects from 2013. For example, he convened the modules 'Applied Imagination', 'Ethical Beings' and 'Sport, Philosophy, and Practice', and completed the IATL-funded project The Warwick Handbook of Innovative Teaching. During his time with IATL, Phil was also a PhD student in Philosophy and Children's Literature, worked with The Philosophy Foundation to bring philosophy sessions into schools, and coached women's American Football at international level.

Phil left IATL in July 2017 to take up the position of Teacher of Philosophy at St Paul’s School in London.
