    Katherine discusses the role of art in situations of conflict

    This Wednesday and Thursday (13th and 14th May) our Research Fellow Katherine Hennessey will be at the Lowry Arts Centre in Manchester to attend the UK premiere of the Palestinian play The Siege by Freedom Theatre Jenin, and to participate in the post-performance panel discussion on the role of art in situations of conflict. Among her fellow panelists are Julia Fawcett OBE, CEO of the Lowry; Nabil al-Raee, Artistic Director of Freedom Theatre Jenin and director of the production; and Alex Danchev, Professor of International Relations at St Andrews University.

    Open-Shakespeare: Under Australian Skies

    Fulbright visiting scholar Alexa is editing a Palgrave Macmillan book series on Global Shakespeares, and the first book in the series, Open-Air Shakespeare: Under Australian Skies by Rosemary Gaby, has just been published and was on sale at the Shakespeare Association of America annual meeting in Vancouver, 1-4 April 2015.
