"Hamlet's dilemma"- Jerry joins discussion at Jaipur Literature Festival
On 22nd January Jerry Brotton joined Vishal Bhardwaj, Basharat Peer and Tim Supple in a conversation facilitated by Suhel Seth at the Jaipur Literature Festival.
Global Shakespeare Seminar Series at Warwick
On Tuesday 3rd February the first in the seminar series at Warwick University this term will be led by our visiting fellow José Roberto O'Shea from the Universidade de Santa Catarina, Brazil. O'Shea joins us to discuss issues surrounding Shakespeare and translation. His talk is entitled "Desacralising Shakespeare’s ‘Word’ through Linguistic and Cultural Translation".
The following week on Tuesday 10th February we will have the opportunity to introduce the Global Shakespeare project and our own team's current research.
Later on in the series, on Tuesday 17th February, we hear from Tom Cheesman from Swansea University introducing his digital translation project Delighted Beauty in a talk entitled "Mapping Shakespeare Translations: Experiments with Visualization".
