Training Opportunities

The International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) is supported by a team at Warwick who offer various training opportunities for you to prepare for the conference so you can make the most of your ICUR Experience.

We have the following offerings:

1) Learn about ICUR: You will meet our current Student Directors and a past presenter to understand what you can expect leading up to ICUR and what happens over the 2-day event in September. You’ll learn about what to expect from an academic conference and how to progress your research from an abstract to a presentation. This is an informal session where you can asks questions and have a relaxed discussion with fellow students.

2) How to Write an Abstract: We will outline the key components of a successful abstract when applying for ICUR and, in general, writing an abstract for an interdisciplinary and international audience. We will also explain the abstract review process and discuss how these abstract writing skills can be applied more broadly.

3) Intercultural Communication: This session is intended to equip you with the communication and delivery skills to present your research to an interdisciplinary and international audience.

Beyond presenter training, we will also be offering training to volunteers for various roles available to assist with the organization and delivery of the 2 day event later in the year. Stay tuned!
