Global Shakespeare an exciting initiative that is simultaneously located at two great universities and 'elsewhere'

Professor Alexa Huang


Alexa joined us as Global Shakespeare’s Fulbright visiting scholar for 2014-2015.

She teaches at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and co-founded the MIT Global Shakespeares digital video archive.

While in the UK, she researched Shakespearean performance, diaspora and diasporic artists, touring productions, and international festivals.

Last summer, she was invited to address the U.S. Congress on globalization and the importance of the humanities in the twenty-first century. She has also appeared on BBC, Voice of America, and other media outlets to discuss cultural globalization.
