Warwick Retired Staff Association Bursaries available

Applications are invited for the 2009-10 Warwick Retired Staff Association Bursaries, which aim to support creative and cultural extra-curricular activities by Warwick students. Awards are intended to cover a wide range of activities such as the performing arts - music, drama, dance and the creative arts - writing, translation, painting, sculpture, photography or design.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 8th October 2009

New Research Skills A to Z web page

An A to Z of Research Skills has been compiled by the Centre's Academic Co-ordinator at Brookes to help undergraduate researchers understand some of the key concepts they need to be familiar with when producing research.

The A to Z is very much 'work in progress' and any suggested amendments or additions would be very welcome from students or from staff.  Please email Pete Smith at prsmith at brookes dot ac dot uk

Oxford Brookes shortlisted for THE award due to Reinvention Centre's activities

The activities of the Reinvention Centre have led to Oxford Brookes being shortlisted in the Outstanding Support for Students category in the Times Higher Education Awards 2009.  For more information and a full list of shortlisted institutions in all categories, see the Times Higher Education website.

Call for new Student Learning and Teaching Network Committee Members

Any undergraduate or postgraduate students are invited to volunteer for three available positions on the Student Learning and Teaching Network Committee. The positions will run from September 2009 to September 2010.

The deadline for applications is Monday 28th September 2009.

Centre welcomes new team member

Photo of Danny WildingThe Centre has recently appointed Danny Wilding to the post of Research Associate (Student Engagement).  Danny, who was a Student Representative for the Centre during his undergraduate studies, is currently completing an MA in Social Research at Warwick and has now joined the Centre's Warwick team.  As well as working on two of the Centre's key ongoing projects, Danny has responsibility for the development, evaluation and dissemination of a student engagement model for the Centre.

Danny was also recently appointed by the Quality Assurance Agency as a Student Auditor.
