Undergraduate student conference call for abstracts
StudentSpeak: Undergraduate Student Conference in Social Science and Languages, to be held at Aston University on Saturday 5 June 2010, is "a conference dedicated to publicising and advancing new undergraduate thinking and research".
The deadline for abstract submissions is 7 May 2010.
QAA publishes Reinvention Centre paper and interview
A paper written by the Reinvention Centre's Director, Paul Taylor, and Research Associate (Student Engagement), Danny Wilding, has been published on the website of The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), which states "QAA has published a think-piece exploring the relationship between students and universities, looking specifically at the work of undergraduate students as researchers."
The QAA has also posted an interview with Paul and Danny as an episode of the QAA Podcast.
Paid research opportunity for undergraduate students
There is currently an opportunity for 4 or 5 undergraduate students who would like the opportunity to work on a research project about students' perspectives on careers and employability for a Centre-funded project called Reinventing Careers.
It is being run by the Centre for Student Careers and Skills at Warwick by Gill Frigerio.
For participation in the project you will be paid a bursary of £850.
Application deadline: 5pm on Wednesday 2 December 2009.
Undergraduates sought for Reinvention Journal Editor and Sub-Editor positions
Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate student research. It is jointly run by staff and undergraduate students at the University of Warwick and Oxford Brookes University. The position of Editor and three Sub-Editor positions are now open to undergraduate students at either of these institutions.
Closing date for applications: Friday 16 October 2009.
