Marissa Beatty is founder of The Human Zoo Theatre Company, which came about when a group of young people, who had previously worked on various projects at their local theatre and school, came together with a common goal - to produce work themselves that interested and excited them, hoping very much that this goal would lead to engaging audiences in interesting and exciting ways. Tired of being told that a career in theatre is a sure-fire way to poverty, The Human Zoo has given this group of young creatives control and ownership over their careers.

Marissa Beatty recieved an IATL Performance Festival Bursary to take the Human Zoo's production of The Hive to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014 and you can view the project report at:
