Where the Heart Is

Laura Mason - Where the Heart is (image)

This collaborative piece of student writing explores issues of home, family history, secrets and compromise. The plot revolves around one house, three moments in time and one secret that unites them all. Arthur Ridley is a journalist in 1944, investigating a supposed war hero with a story that doesn't quite add up; a group of women in 1983, living together amongst political upheaval, recieve a mysterious visitor; a couple in 2016 move into a family home, only to find everything is not as it seems.

This is a show about the places we call home and how their pasts shape us. Three stories are intercut that show the key moments in defining one particular home, and whether knowing, understanding and sharing the whole past is always desirable.
