SF/F Now: An international interdisciplinary conference exploring the representation of contemporary topics and crises in imaginative literature

Graeme Macdonald is Associate Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick, UK, where he teaches modern and contemporary literature and drama. He has authored various articles and essays on nineteenth to twenty-first century literature and culture, and is editor of Post-Theory: New Directions in Criticism (1999) and Scottish Literature and Postcolonial Literature (2011). He teaches a graduate class on Petrofiction and is at present engaged on a monograph project on Oil and World Literature.

Rhys Williams has recently handed in his PhD at the University of Warwick, and is awaiting a viva. He is interested in Marxist theory, utopianism, value- theory, and discourses of purity and impurity. His thesis pulls all these together into a contemporary politicized approach to reading fantastic literature. He has published articles in Science Fiction Studies and Paradoxa.
