Coventry City of Culture: Place and Place-making

Ahead of Coventry’s tenure as UK City of Culture 2021, this module provides an opportunity for students to explore the relationship that they, and the University of Warwick, have with the city, and with ideas of place more broadly.

This module explores Coventry through numerous disciplinary perspectives, framed within three distinct units of Memory, Making and Migration. Over the course of the module, students will apply theoretical perspectives to place and place-making to the city of Coventry. Supported by guest tutors from across Warwick’s three faculties, students will consider various ways to “read” Coventry.

This module is interlinked with Coventry City of Culture: The University and the City.
