Global Shakespeare challenges the idea that Shakespeare belongs to England and the UK. Instead the course considers literature, imperialism, globalization, cultural hybridity and the politics of translation among other things, by studying Shakespeare from international points of view. Our department is so culturally and linguistically diverse - we have a real basis from which to exchange ideas, share information and challenge each other to understand the similarities and differences in interpretations of Shakespeare from across the world.”
