    Warwick Accommodation can organise a ‘Home stay for short stay’. This is basically a room in the home of a local resident (conveniently located to the University) where the tenant is offered bed, breakfast and an evening meal. Cost approx. £250 per week tbc.

  • Warwick Vacation Accommodation
    Vacation Accommodation is available for the Christmas and Easter Vacations as well as the first eleven weeks of the Summer Vacation. It is on campus usually in one of the halls with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Students can book it from around week 8 of each term.

Although there are the usual University and private sector accommodations in Leicester, be aware that the University does not offer single-night student accommodation during teaching term times.

University Accommodation

Information about places to live and stay in Leicester can be found on the web site of the University Accommodation Services (contact details below) where you can book University accommodation on-line. Most of the University accommodation at Oadby Student Village (2 miles from main campus) caters for students, especially undergraduates, who will be in residence for the full academic year.

City Living accommodation, catering primarily for postgraduates and international students, is offered in six main locations close to the university campus and the city centre. Each site provides accommodation for both male and female students, however some individual blocks and flats are single gender

    • Freemen's Common, conveniently situated only 250 metres from the main University campus.
    • Mary Gee, primarily for the use of undergraduates.
    • Nixon Court, extremely popular with all students, due to it's convenient location.
    • Salisbury Houses, approximately 750 metres from the main campus and adjacent to Victoria Park.
    • Opal Court, a choice of Standard plus Ensuite, Premium Ensuite and Premium Flats.
    • The Grange

Residence fees include gas, electricity, heating, hot water, furniture and equipment, as well as regular cleaning of communal areas. You are responsible for cleaning your own room, as well as washing up and keeping communal areas tidy. These are self-catered properties; no food or meals are provided.

If you are an academic guest/visitor and will be working with the university, there are a small number of City Living guestrooms available on a short term basis; these are prioritised for visiting academic staff and rooms are let on a weekly basis. eg at Opal Court (walk 10 minutes from rail station; 5 minutes from University).

Private Sector Accommodation

Western Challenge Housing Association Ltd

This private accommodation is in new purpose-built residences located in the city centre, in a quiet location with off-road parking, opposite the Royal Infirmary; it is only a 10 minute walk from the University and a 10-15 minute walk from the rail station. The Leicester Tigers Rugby and Leicester City Football grounds are both with a few minute walk. This is self-catered accommodation, which is furnished and maintained to a good standard, ranging from single shared accommodation to family flats.

Short-term accommodation is available for £24.50 per night which includes bedding but not food; residents do have access to kitchen facilities and there is a large supermarket within a 10 minute walk.
