In three words or phrases how would you describe your supervision style?

Collaborative, Inclusive, Outcome-oriented

In one or two sentences please describe your strategies regarding the following.
Provision of training:

At the onset of your PhD, we will work collaboratively to define research questions and hypotheses for your project. I will expect you to independently carry out your research, figure out appropriate methods and develop new ones. If challenges arise or you become stuck in your project, I expect you to communicate those issues in a timely manner – we will work together to find appropriate solutions.

Progression monitoring and management:

I will expect you to take full ownership of your progression but know that I am always available if you need help troubleshooting. I like to be kept up to date, and will expect to see evidence of progress on a weekly basis. We will set monthly goals for you project – If these goals are not being met, we will collaboratively devise a plan of action.

Communication:

I am known to email my team/PhD students at all hours of the day and night, however I will not expect you to do the same. All project details will be communicated through Slack. I am happy to discuss any issues that are impacting your ability to fulfil your potential or my/our expectations.
