In three words or phrases how would you describe your supervision style?

Supportive, collaborative, inclusive

Suggestions for inspiration: Laid-back, detail-oriented, outcome-oriented, technique-orientated, supportive, goal-driven, student-centred, organised, spontaneous, collaborative, guiding, teaching, understanding, inclusive.

In one or two sentences please describe your strategies regarding the following.
Provision of training:

I am happy to provide more hands-on support at first, but the goal would be for my student to develop independence, confidence and skills as they progress through the PhD.

Progression monitoring and management:

I am here for advice and guidance to help you reach the goals you set for yourself, but I will also mentor and encourage development opportunities where I can.

Communication:

I typically work “normal” hours, but sometimes I will email outside of working hours – if this happens I will not expect a reply until working hours as I like to promote a healthy work/life balance as much as possible
