Applications for 2018/19 awards are now open

Q-Step PG Bursaries/Scholarships

The Warwick Q-Step Centre will be offering a number of bursaries and scholarships againfor the following Quantitative Methods postgraduate degree programmes:

For 2018/19 entry these will include a variety of full tuition fee and maintenance bursaries, as well as contribution to tuition fees only scholarships.

Warwick Q-Step Scholarship (Home/EU)

Value: £2,000 each.

Availability: 1 scholarship per degree programme.

Home/EU students who have graduated from a Q-Step undergraduate degree and have been accepted onto one of the following Q-Step Masters degrees:

  • MSc Big Data and Digital Futures

Warwick Q-Step Bursary (Home/EU)

Eligibility and Deadlines

  • Open to Home/EU applicants on the following Q-Step Masters degree programmes:

MA Politics, Big Data and Quantitative Methods

MSc Big Data and Digital Futures

MSc Quantitative Social Research

  • Candidates must apply to the university and have paid their application fees by 15 June 2018 (Late applicants, who apply for their course after 16 June may still be considered, as long as their application fee is paid by 30 June 2017). You must submit your application to the Masters programme before submitting your scholarship application.
  • Candidates must apply for the scholarship no later than 29 June 2018.
  • All supporting documentation for the university application, including your references, must be received no later than 13 July 2018.
  • Successful candidates must obtain an offer from the university before taking up the award.
  • Candidates may apply concurrently to other funding sources.

Awarding Criteria

In allocating the above bursaries, the selection committee will base their decisions on the following criteria:

  • Excellent academic performance (40%);
  • Outstanding case for support (application statement): your application statement should demonstrate how you fit the awarding criteria, as well as reflecting your motivations for choosing to do a quantitative Masters degree. You should also outline relevant individual attributes (e.g., background, relevant work experience, extracurricular activities, etc.). In addition, your statement should be concise, well-articulated, and engaging. (60%)

The case for support should be no more than 800 words in length.

Warwick Q-Step Bursaries

The primary factor determining an application's success is the strength of the case for support. This case for support should demonstrate why you fit the above criteria as well as reflect your motivations for choosing to do a postgraduate degree in your specialisation. Your case for support should be no more than 800 words in length and should differ from the statement of purpose submitted with your application to the university.

To apply for the Warwick Q-Step bursaries listed above, applicants must complete the following application form and return this by email to Craig Franklin at Q-Step@warwick.ac.uk no later than 29 June 2018.

We will aim to notify applicants of a decision within 6 weeks of the closing date.

Please note that the bursary application form is separate from your main masters degree course application/s. Supporting documents (all university transcripts and CVs) should be submitted with your online course application via the University’s postgraduate application system.

If any of the documents required for you course applications are uploaded late or are missing, you may not be eligible to be considered for any of the Q-Step bursaries or scolarships. Please make sure you have submitted all the reqiremend documentation before the bursary application deadline.
