Biography

Deepson Shyangdan joined Warwick Evidence within the Warwick Medical School in June 2011 as a Systematic Reviewer (Research Fellow). He graduated in medicine with first class degree from the Kathmandu University in 2006 and gained an MSc in Health Services and Public Health Research from the University of Aberdeen in 2007. He is also a registered medical practitioner with Nepal Medical Council. Before joining this group, he used to work as a Systematic Reviewer with Diabetes and Health Technology Assessment (DAHTA) group based at University of Aberdeen. He gained experience in undertaking systematic reviews in health technology assessment (HTA) and single (STA) or multiple (MTA) technology assessment commissioned by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) HTA programme, mostly on behalf of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), but also for other policy-making bodies such as National Screening Committee (NSC). He also has experience in undertaking Cochrane reviews. He was also involved in teaching and supervising MSc students. His current responsibility is to undertake technology appraisal reviews (TARs) for NICE and other policy-making bodies.
