Explore some of the issues in end of life care for patients with advanced and progressive disease
Analyse the complexity of the dying process and the challenges these pose when caring for this group of patients including: sociological perspectives; communication; symptom management in the last 48 hours of life; aspects of service provision/delivery
  • You will also be encouraged to critically analyse ethical and moral issues that occur in clinical practice with dying patients
  • Led by professionals in the field of palliative care, the teaching and learning style is interactive, drawing on knowledge and experience of both the expert teachers and the participants
  • As with all of the palliative care modules, it is multidisciplinary, drawing on the knowledge and expertise of a range of professionals – a feature that has been valued highly by past students
