Workshop Day 3

A sound knowledge of occlusal principles is essential for any dental surgeon who is providing Orthodontic treatment. Failure to apply these principles may well result in a less than ideal treatment plan and instability of the final occlusion. 

Aims to:

  • promote an understanding of the fundamentals of occlusion 
  • promote an understanding of occlusion as it applies to Orthodontics 
  • promote an understanding of the relationship of Temporo-Mandibular Joint dysfunction and occlusion and Orthodontics 
  • promote an understanding of the current literature 
  • promote an understanding of the force systems available 
  • promote an understanding of laboratory communication 
  • promote an understanding of the medico-legal implications and responsibilities associated with treatment

Objectives to:

  • understand the fundamental principles of occlusion 
  • understand the fundamental principles of the occlusion you are aiming for post Orthodontic treatment.
