Christian Medical Fellowship

cmf

! We are the Warwick branch fo the Christian Medics Fellowship. Whether or not you are Christian, we really welcome you! This is a place to ask the questions that science cannot answer. As Medics, we know not everything is clear-cut, and things we observe in this career will definitely challenge each one of us deeply. So even before you become Dr , it's worth pondering!

CMF was founded in 1949 and has over 4,500 British doctor members in all branches of medicine, and over 1,000 student members. For those within the Christian faith, it is a place to deepen our understanding of how faith and medicine go hand in hand. Those who do not profess to be Christians are also welcome to come to meetings and discuss important issues especially bioethics.

The national CMF website can be a useful resource when thinking about ethics, global healthcare inequalities and the place of Christian faith in medicine:

Lunchtime discussion/prayer meetings

Great chance to meet together as phase I students. provisionally THURSDAY LUNCHTIME. It is a time to get together, eat some lunch, pray and read the Bible: an oasis of calm in the midst of all the mania. Find us in one of the seminar rooms on the ground floor or email us (cmfwarwick at gmail dot com).

PHASE 2 and beyond:

For those students in phase 2 (and also open to anyone else interested) the CMF runs monthly meetings with guest speakers. Please email us at cmfwarwick at gmail dot com for more information.

If you would like to help out and get more involved in CMF, please email us at CMFwarwick at gmail dot com :D We would love to hear from you!

Are you new? :)

CMF is running a book club! We are planning to read a chapter a week/2 weeks/month, and discuss it in small groups, be it at homes, hospitals, medsch. We can also have internet discussions on the topics we come across too. By reading a book together, we hope this will bring about a more collective fellowship feel. Those who cannot reach big meetings can still take part. What do you think? It would be best if we can have real life gatherings where people can discuss, but obvious that is heavily dependent on commitment and also if time allows.

The book we are proposing is "Meltdown - Making sense of a culture in crisis". This was delibrately chosen to not be 'medically' but still relevant to us. Other book suggests welcome!
