The University of Warwick was founded in 1965 on a 290 hectare campus. Warwick is located near the historic town of Stratford-Upon Avon, about one hour by train north of London. As a university, Warwick is consistently ranked in the top ten of all major national rankings of British universities. Being a campus, it has an excellent range of sports, arts and entertainment facilities at hand, as well as a very active students union. In addition to the excellent teaching and learning facilities, it is a place that is well set up for you to enjoy your time at.

The University has an extensive range of on-campus accommodation set in peaceful, woodland locations. Accommodation includes flats and halls of residence with fast internet access included in the price. Note that overseas students are given preference for single rooms on campus.

Learning Grid

Just a short walk from the Department, the Learning Grid is a unique facility that is popular with our students. Open 24 hours a day, with a wide range of work areas, computer rooms and equipment available, it's a great resource for group working and developing new cross-discplinary interactions with like-minded individuals.

Our modern library has one million books and many terminals providing online access to thousands of electronic journals and e-books, to support your independent learning.

The University of Warwick is set in a 720 acre landscaped campus. This includes four lakes and two woodland areas perfect for relaxing in the summertime.

There are 2,000 events each year at the Warwick Arts Centre; an on campus facility that is one of the biggest of its type in the UK, and the largest arts centre outside of London.

We have world-class sporting facilties at Warwick. This includes a large sports centre with gym, indoor climbing wall, 25-metre swimming pool, several all-weather tennis courts, 60 acres of outdoor playing fields and 70 sports clubs.


The main Warwick campus is 70 minutes from London, 20 minutes to Birmingham International Airport and only a few miles from Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace and the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company. We are also near the busy towns of Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Coventry for all your shopping needs.

The campus provides a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants, banks, a hairdresser, pharmacy and post office are all on campus and open throughout the year, along with a doctors surgery.

Students' Union

The heart of the social scene, with 8 bars and 4 food/coffee bars, the Union also has its own newspaper and radio station as well as over 250 societies to choose from.
