Warwick Chemistry seeks promising Royal Society URF 2024 candidates

A Royal Society University Research (URF) FellowshipLink opens in a new window can lift you towards independence and a permanent post.

On Tuesday 11 July the URF 2024 scheme will open for applications. The round will close on Thursday 7 September 2023. For this round, UK applicants are required to submit an 8-year costed fellowship proposal.

We are now inviting expressions of interest. Applicants will, of course, need to be exceptional postdoctoral researchers with between three to eight years of actual research experience since their PhD by the closing date of the round. Career breaks will be taken into consideration (see the Royal Society’s website for more information). We are particularly keen to receive expressions of interest from women and individuals who are under-represented in senior scientific academic positions, for example ethnic minority and LGBT scientists and those living with disability.

If you meet the Royal Society eligibility criteria, Warwick Chemistry could be the best place to host your research with ground-breaking research happening across the broad themes of:

  • Chemical, Synthetic and Structure Biology
  • Materials and Polymers
  • Measurement and Modelling
  • Synthesis and Catalysis

We offer a dynamic environment where research benefits from state-of-the-art facilities. Interdisciplinarity is a founding principle at Warwick and collaborations are supported and encouraged. 100% of our REF 2021 - assessed research activity is world-leading or internationally excellent, with our research environment being recognised amongst the best in the UK. We are dedicated to supporting professional development, with many previous fellowship holders having gone on to hold permanent positions at Warwick (see our Early Career Research FellowshipsLink opens in a new window page).
