DNA property study

I have been using linear dichroism to explore the properties of DNA. The properties of interest in particular is temperature, however this in turn brings in the issue of viscosity.

There are three different types of DNA being explored. The main of these being calf thymus DNA, the other types include DNA from thermophiles and that contain different %GC. The types of DNA used so far has been Acaryochloris marina DNA which can be found in the sea at 28 oC and Sulfolobus solfataricus DNA which can be found in hot springs at around 80 oC. Thanks are given to Yi-Wah Chan (University of Warwick) and Dr Albert Bolhuis (Bath University) respectively for providing the DNA.
