Clinical Sciences Building, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire

The flagship Clinical Sciences Centre, one of the largest and most modern healthcare education centres in Europe has been built on the site of the new University Hospital and combines teaching facilities including a mock operating theatre and ward, research laboratories and a state of the art library to create a leading edge knowledge centre for the NHS in the midlands.

The academic sessions will take place in the first floor lecture theatre equipped with state-of-the-art projection and visualisation facilities. Registration, lunch and poster presentations will take place in the large reception area outside the theatre, with additional sydicate rooms available for delegate discussion.

Getting there

The Clinical Sciences Building is located on site at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire which is located in the city of Coventry in the heart of the Midlands.

Parking is Pay On Foot at University Hospital. At peak times the demand for spaces can be high and so we would recommend that if at all possible you consider using public transport. There are several buses which drop off outside the main entrance of the University Hospital. There are disabled car parking facilities and drop off points near the entrances of University Hospital.

Air Travel

The nearest airport is Birmingham International Airport, which is about 15 miles away from the Clinical Sciences Building.

Rail Travel

The nearest railway station is Coventry Railway station, which is well connected to much of the UK. Please visit the National Rail website for more details. From Coventry Railway station, the University Hospital can be reached by taxi (this will cost £15-£20) or by bus.

Bus Travel

There are several bus routes to get to the hospital. Buses which depart from Coventray Railway station to the Hospital include 1, X31 and 85. Please visit Network West Midlands to help plan your trip.


If you require accommodation for either the night before or following the conference, please visit Warwick Conferences Accommodation who will be able to offer you accommodation to suit your budget on campus at the University of Warwick. Alternatively, there are several hotels near to the Hospital, including the Hilton Coventry, the Holiday Inn Coventry, as well as a number of city entre hotels, including the Ramada Coventry, the Hotel Ibis Coventry and the Premier Inn Coventry.
