Claudia was born in Northern Ireland and then moved to the Wirral where she spent most of her childhood years. She is now living in Leamington Spa whilst completing her MChem degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Warwick. She has just completed a year in industry where she looked at developing metal oxide nanoparticles for use in sun care at Croda Europe. She hopes to continue working in research and development in late 2017.
Claudia has had a keen interest in research for health care applications from a young age. She has looked at improving porosity measurements of roller-compacted ribbon samples (Bristol Myers-Squibb, Wirral, 2012) and has more recently looked at improving the UV shielding properties of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in sunscreen formulations (Croda, Ditton, 2016). She is now looking forward to expanding her knowledge of nanomaterials by investigating novel ways to monitor drug release from nanostructures as part of the Davies Group.
