Warwick has a number of very active polymer and materials groups with 6 research groups and around 100 active researchers.
We also have a Polymer Masters course which runs every October- see the link for more information.
We are always looking to recruit talented and commited scientists. If you are interested in working in the O’Reilly group then please get in touch.
We do encourage researchers who would like to join our research team to apply for fellowship opportunities, for more details contact rachel dot oreilly at warwick dot ac dot uk directly or write to email@example.com.
Specific postdoctoral positions within the O’Reilly group will be advertised on the University website and www.jobs.ac.uk when funding is available. However, if you can apply for your own funding then please contact me in advance. Please send a CV and covering letter, along with any enquiries.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to work on a collaborative project funded by BP, to join an ongoing proprietary project ‘Pelican’ (started in 2011) on ‘Polymers for enhanced oil recovery’. The project will be hosted in the O’Reilly group, in the School of Chemistry at the University of Birmingham (note this group will move from the University of Warwick in January 2018). The project will develop responsive polymer particles.
CLOSING DATE - 3rd January 2018
PhD positions are available in our group each year, usually starting in October. If you are interested in doctoral studies in the group then please contact us as soon as possible. An application should consist of your CV, a cover letter, and the names of two academic mentors who know your work and could provide a reference. There are a number of scholarships available through the University to fund graduate studies (see this link for details). For overseas students the Warwick Chancellors International scholarship is a presitigous source of funding that a number of group members have been awarded. We also have a number of students funded through the China Scholarship Scheme. Information about graduate studies at Warwick is also available on the University website. Further information on PhD funding can be found at the following link.
Funding is available for UK/EU students to start in 2018, please contact ROR (firstname.lastname@example.org) if interested.
A PhD studentship is available from October 2018 (or earlier if available) in the group led by Professor Rachel O'Reilly studying the synthesis of novel biomimetic polymers and their subsequent self-assembly. The project will involve significant organic synthesis and established polymer synthesis as well as extensive polymer and materials characterisation.
Applicants should have (or be about to receive) an honours degree (at least II.1 or equivalent and a Masters degree is preferred) in chemistry, or other relevant discipline, and should have experience with organic and/or polymer synthesis and characterization. This studentship only provides funding for UK/EU students and funding is provided for 3.5 years.
We can sometimes accommodate talented and motivated undergraduates during the summer vacation period for stays of approximately 10 weeks. Please be note that such placements need to be arranged well in advance. To apply, please send a CV and provide the name of a mentor who you have worked with before. Funds to support such stays are only rarely available in Warwick, so students may need to apply for a scholarship to meet the costs of their stay. Note that the University offer summer studentship bursaries each year, the deadline for these is often early in term 2.
