Dr Minkyung Kang receives Thesis Prize

Former PhD student of WEIG (now a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London) Dr Minkyung Kang has recieved the 'Thesis Prize' from the University of Warwick Science faculty for her excellent work on the development of SICM and SECCM techniques. Thoroughly deserved!

Congratulations to Pat for his prizes!

Pat Unwin has been selected by the Society of Electroanalytical Chemistry to receive the 2018 Charles N. Reilley Award. The Award recognizes outstanding research contributions in electroanalytical chemistry and will be presented at a special symposium at Pittcon in Orlando in February 2018.

Pat will be the 35th winner of the Award and the first person from the UK to receive it. The Award is given in memory of the renowned US analytical chemist Charles N. Reilley and celebrates scientists whose work advances fundamental understanding in electroanalytical science over empiricism.

Not only this, but Pat has been selected by the International Society for Electrochemistry (ISE) Award Committee to win The 2017 ISE-Elsevier Prize for Experimental Electrochemistry.

Pat and WEIG have made spectacular advances in instrumental electrochemistry in the past few years, developing innovative electrochemical imaging probes to visualise interfacial dynamic processes of wide applicability, from electrocatalysts to living cells.

WEIG wins prizes!

WEIG proves that its members are top of the game - well done to Emma Ravenhill for winning the Lubrizol Additives University Contacts Meeting poster prize, and also to Dr. David Perry for winning the departmental prize for best thesis, and finally to Faduma Maddar for winning the BACG Crystals as Art prize!
