Computer and Business Studies
I studied BSc Computer and Business Studies at Warwick from 2008 to 2011. I think it would be fair to say that I developed immeasurably during my time there. I started my degree with no programming experience but I did have a willingness to understand how technology can be applied in business. This willingness led me to focus on areas of my degree I found particularly interesting, such as operations, customer service and supply chain management. This in-turn led me to my current job as a graduate in supply chain management at Unilever. Looking back, I think the rigorous thinking skills and the understanding of the latest cutting-edge technologies I developed at Warwick gave me a big advantage when applying for jobs.
A particular highlight of my degree course was the software engineering project with Deutsche Bank in my second year, which involved working in a team with other students to develop a software system that would be evaluated by industry professional. The project was fast-paced, demanding, and customer focused, just like the project I'm involved with at Unilever.
