Research Fellow (103598-0121)

Full time, fixed term position for 12 months, with the possibility of an extension.

The fellow will mainly collaborate with the Data Science Research Group, Prof. Graham Cormode and Prof. Hakan Ferhatosmanoglu, and aim to publish in the premier venues of data driven research. The position is funded by our transport agency partners and European Research Council. The research topics include temporal graph learning, cloud-based analytics of mobility data, and scaling the machine learning process in terms of both size and variety of data. Candidates with related research interests (e.g. graph neural networks, spatio-temporal analysis, scalable machine learning) are encouraged to apply.

The Computer Science Department at Warwick is ranked 1st in the UK for scientific output and 2nd overall in the latest UK Research Excellence Framework. We are among the co-founders of the Alan Turing Institute, UK’s national AI and data science institute. Our research group and department provide an excellent environment for research career development and to be at the forefront of data science research and innovation. Past members of the research group moved to work in the leading technology companies and in permanent faculty positions at major research universities in USA and Europe.

Suitable candidates will possess (or soon to possess) a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, and can start immediately. Please apply with a Cover letter, CV, Research Statement, and the names of two References.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£30,046). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£30,942 pa).
