About Me

I'm a PhD student as part of the Warwick Institute for the Science of Cities CDT, within the Department of Computer Science. I graduated with a first class MEng (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Warwick in 2017. I'm currently working on research involving wireless sensor networks under my supervisor Dr. Arshad Jhumka.

Research

I'm currently researching routing algorithms within wireless sensor networks. Sensors in wireless sensor networks generally have low energy resources available, and so are limited in the number of messages they can send. My work involves developing routing methods to minimise the number of messages sent, while still delivering important information within the network. Currently I'm focussing on the use of ant colony optimisation, a swarm based algorithm that takes inspiration from how ants find the quickest way to reach a food source. Some applications of wireless sensor networks involve environment monitoring, such as within a forest to detect forest fires, or resource monitoring, for example keeping track of endangered animals like pandas.

SSLC

I'm the first year PhD representative and secretary on the Department of Computer Science SSLC 2017/18. If you have any issues feel free to contact me!
