Journal Club

Hello, and welcome to the official School of Engineering journal club! When engineers around the world carry out research, they publish their important findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Within our club we learn and explore these papers from the past and present, aiming to demonstrate the importance of engineering.

The papers we explore are carefully selected and we hope you learn plenty. Each fortnite we will post a link to a scientific paper, and provide supporting material to help you understand the key concepts. Note that papers are written by scientists for other scientists, so they can at first be difficult to understand. We recommend reading each paper throughout an entire week.

Although scientific papers may sound convincing, it’s almost certain there are some limitations in the research that has been carried out. We challenge YOU to find these limitations!

After reading the paper and supporting material, we encourage you to answer a list of questions released by us. The best answers will be published on the School of Engineering web-page. Ultimately we hope you enjoy reading these papers, and maybe one day you will be writing one yourself.

Thanks for joining us,

Journal Club Team
