Paper 9

Hello Engineers and Scientists,

If you've got this far, you've already carried out a significant amount of research through reading scientific publications - Congratulations. Summarising papers is a key task for scientific researchers as it ensures there knowledge of their research field is up to date.

This fortnight the paper focuses on an innovative engineering design of buildings roofs. By simply planting vegetation on roofs, a host of environmental benefits are realised. The concept of 'Green Roofs' has been known for decades however its implementation until recently has been limited.

The publication highlights the environmental and economic benefits of installing a green roof but conversely also provides explanations for there limited installation until now. We ask you to evaluate these environmental benefits before you suggest some design ideas which may further improve the roofs benefits.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

All the best,

Journal Club Team :)
