ABSL Power Solutions is a world leader in the research, design, development and delivery of power solutions for customers who cannot afford failure. Their reputation derives from the Lithium-ion materials technology. ABSL are providing the battery for the power system. The engineers at ABSL provide us with technical assistance for our design which is greatly appreciated.


Thales Research & Technology is the UK part of Thales' advanced research and development centre of excellence. Thales Research and Technology has pioneered technologies such as the Galileo Constellation RF Simulator. This has become the benchmark for the ESA's satellite programme, incorporating state of the art DSP and RF technologies. Thales are generously aiding the EPS team with financial support which will enable advancement of the project.


Clyde Space provides affordable, high performance subsystems for small satellites and microspacecraft. Our unique blend of extensive small satellite mission design experience and engineering design expertise makes Clyde Space a valuable member of any small satellite team. Clyde Space will be providing the EPS team with technical support with regards to the solar cells technology.


AZUR SPACE Solar Power produces Silicon (Si) and III-V (GaAs) cells for space and terrestrial concentrator photovoltaic systems. AZUR Space are very generously providing the EPS team with GaAs solar cells type 3G-28% which are required to power the satellite for the mission.

RS are a world-leading distributor of electronic components. With a range of 450,000 electronic components and industrial products RS supports over 1.6M customers worldwide. RS are generously providing the team with electronic components and other equipment.


Plexim develops and markets simulation software for power electronic system simulation, and they have supplied the EPS team with licenses for the software package PLECS along with technical support with regards to its implementation.


The Institution of Engineering and Technology, is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. The IET has more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The IET provides a global knowledge network to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote the positive role of science, engineering and technology in the world. The IET is generously aiding the EPS team with financial support which will enable advancement of the project.


GE's Aviation Systems business, is a leading global provider of electrical power systems, avionics, actuation and landing gear, aerostructures and propeller systems to the builders and operators of military and civil aircraft, from large transports to fighters, UAVs to armored vehicles, and from helicopters to regional and business jets. GE Aviation are generously aiding the EPS team with financial support which will enable advancement of the project.

Mentor Graphics FloTHERM is a powerful 3D computational fluid dynamics software that predicts airflow and heat transfer in and around electronic equipment, including the coupled effects of conduction, convection and radiation. Harwin design and manufacture world-class electrical and electronic interconnect solutions. From standard and high-reliability connectors through to custom product, they deliver total interconnect solutions worldwide for product designers and OEMs. Harwin have kindly offered the provision of interconnectors for use on the ESMO project. They also generously sponsor the presentation day at the end of each academic year.

SolidWorks 3D design software can help you design better products faster. When you have an idea for a great product, you'll have the tools to design it in less time, and at lower cost. Solidworks are providing the EPS team with software licences and technical support.

Prodrive logo

Prodrive is one of the worlds most successful motorsport and automotive technology companies. Advanced knowledge of materials, design and engineering skills from this experience transfer well to their expansion into aerospace and defence industries. We are very pleased to have prodrive on board, as they have a specialist composites facility in Milton Keynes. They have kindly agreed to manufacture the carbon fibre plates and provide the aluminium honeycomb for the solar panels. 


Qioptiq - "Leading the world in expertise and facilities, Qioptiq is a recognized, first-tier supplier to many of the aerospace sector’s leading companies. We have a complete offer of components, modules, technology and equipment for aerospace applications." Qioptiq are generously giving the EPS team the cover glass for the solar panels.


Solid Solutions - "Our focus remains to put quality and service first. Helping clients design better products and achieve competitive and efficiency advantages. Ensuring the maximum return on their SolidWorks investment." Solid Solutions have provided EPS teams with specialised training and manuals for Finite Element Analysis, flow simulation and vibration simulation.

esatan-tms.jpg ITP Engines UK supplies heat transfer and thermal analysis software into the aerospace industry. We have been involved in the development of engineering software since the late 1960s with the development of some of the first FEA tools. Our thermal software suite named ESATAN-TMS includes: Workbench, Thermal, Fluids, ThermXL, ThermNV, Radiative and Mission," The EPS team have kindly been granted the use of ESATAN software through licences donated to the project.
lyncolec.jpg  Lyncolec supplies PCBs of the highest standard and quality to customers around the globe. From one off prototypes to full mass production, their expertise and experience with complex precision multi layered PCBs in rigid, flexi or hybrid materials makes them an ideal partner for mission critical applications. Lyncolec are generously manufacturing PCBs for the prototype MPPT system that will form the first part of hardware testing in the EPS project.
