Warwick student wins national scholarship for engineering talent
A student from University of Warwick School of Engineering, Nobeen Islam, has celebrated their success after receiving a Diamond Jubilee Scholarship from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). They are just one of a talented set of engineering students who have won the prestigious award.
Significant acceleration in drug discovery possible
Assosciate Professor James Kermode, from Warwick's School of Engineering, is one of an international collaboration of researchers who have developed a new high precision machine-learning tool. Using an algorithm that accurately predicts the interactions between a protein and a drug molecule, it can predict whether or not a candidate drug molecule will bind to a target protein with a 99% accuracy.
