15th January Engineering Careers Afternoon

Event details

The careers event is designed for any of your pupils, from years 8 to 12, who are considering engineering as a career. Our event includes a one hour "speed dating" session to meet 5 different types of engineer and will cover the chance to hear about apprenticeships as well as University courses. There will also be a 30 minute presentation from the team supporting the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car, see .

Who can come to the event in the International Manufacturing Centre, University Road on Central Campus?

Please bring 1 teacher or responsible adult for every 10 pupils and please limit the total group to 20 per school. You can book places for either session below. We want to help any pupil who is thinking of a career in engineering to find out more about what this might involve and we are expecting that the group from a school will have a pupils from several different years. If you have any queries, or wish to register interest in any cancellations if the event becomes fully booked please email or phone 02476 572903.

1pm to 3pm Session

  • Report to the International Manufacturing Centre reception
  • Register from 1.00pm in rooms 006/008, have some refreshments whilst meeting some of our current engineering students
  • 1.30pm to 2.30pm listen to five 10 minute presentations in our Engineering Hall to learn about apprenticeships, degree courses and employment in engineering
  • 2.30 to 3.00pm Bloodhound presentation in room 002
  • 3.00pm leave
