Systems Pharmacology School 2014

A week-long Vacation School, was held 24th - 28th March in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick

The school was aimed at Early Stage Researchers, Post docs and Industry
Lectures were given by a number of expert speakers including:

• Leon Aarons (Univ. of Manchester, UK)
• Piet Van der Graaf (Leiden Univ., The Netherlands)
• Michael Weiss (Halle Univ., Germany)
• Bert Peletier (Leiden Univ., The Netherlands)
• Johan Gabrielsson (Swedish Univ. of Agricultural Sciences)

Lectures covered:
• Introduction to compartmental modelling and Pharmacokinetics (PK)
• Physiological aspects of PK and physiologically based PK
• Difference between species and scaling across species
• Absorption modelling
• Target Mediated Drug Disposition (TMDD) Modelling
• Identifiability and parameter estimation
