Warwick School of Engineering works with industry and partner organisations to conduct enquiry-driven, fundamental and pioneering research, aiming to make the world a better place.

Our organisational structure connects our research with our study programmes to ensure quality research-led teaching. We have four disciplines shaping our framework: Civil and Environmental; Electrical and Electronic; Mechanical and Process; Systems and Information. Every member of research-active staff sits within a discipline.

Our position as a general engineering department strengthens our capabilities, enabling multi-disciplinary, collaborative research. We work closely with the University's Global Research Priorities to develop solutions to world-wide problems, primarily in Healthcare, Energy and Sustainable Cities. These are our research 'themes'.

In 2016 a new group consisting of staff from all four discipline streams was created to research Engineering Education.
