The control & measurement system has two functions. Firstly, it must measure smoke density & temperature throughout the test rig to provide data to allow analysis of smoke flow and comparison to the simulations. Secondly, once the behaviour of the smoke is better understood, the system will be developed to provide closed loop control and manage the smoke to best ensure the safety of occupants within the modelled room.
