  • If you have completed your enrolment, obtained your ITS account and University ID card, please present your ID card in person to the Research Degrees Secretary in room F306. If you have any problems contact
  • Contact your supervisor/s to arrange a meeting.
  • Attend the Vice-Chancellor's Welcome Address:

The Vice-Chancellor invites all students to a formal welcome address during Week One to mark your arrival at Warwick. This will provide an excellent opportunity for you to meet other students and really begin to understand what it means to be a student at one of the UK and world's leading universities.

  • Book into an Effective Researcher:

How to Be an Effective Researcher is offered on dates throughout the year so, whatever your start date or mode of study, you can find a session to suit you. For more details and booking, visit: Effective Researcher Programme

  • Explore the Research Student Skills Programme:

Take some time during your first weeks at the University to explore the wide range of opportunities designed to support your personal and professional development as a researcher. The Research Student Skills Programme (RSSP) offers an extensive range of training, events and resources, designed for students pursuing a PhD, MPhil, Masters by Research, EngD or Professional Doctorate.

  • Wolfson Research Exchange:

During your first weeks you might also like to familiarise yourself with the dedicated space for researchers found on the third floor of the main Library: the Wolfson Research Exchange.

  • Visit the Library's Get Started sessions

The Get Started sessions at the beginning of the academic year give you the opportunity to become familiar with the Library facilities, meet staff and find out more about the key resources for your course. You can access some bite-sized Get Started sessions online from the same page.

  • Visit the Festival of Sport

Sample some of the sports club taster sessions taking place during the Festival of Sport which runs from Monday, 29th September – Friday, 3rd October 2014. Access to the sports facilities on campus will also be free between these dates.

 My arrival in the UK is delayed, how late can I join the course?

We recognise that international students may experience delays due to the visa process or other circumstances. Whilst wishing to support students who find themselves in this situation, we must also be mindful of the impact of the delay on the individual and their fellow students. We will therefore allow students to arrive up to and no later than one month after the start of term, or the last date shown on your visa document. If you are delayed beyond this period you must contact .
