RESEARCH PROFILE

Andrew's main interests are evaluating pesticides and bio-pesticides for control of insects and pathogens in field vegetables and glasshouse crops. He is also recognised as an authority on chilli pepper analysis and has tested several peppers which have been officially recognised as the worlds’ hottest.

BACKGROUND

He is an analytical chemist with many years’ experience analysing pesticides, naturally occurring plant chemicals and mineral nutrients in soil and plants. He has worked extensively on pesticide breakdown, adsorption and movement in the soil particularly in relation to the interaction between pesticide availability and efficacy.
