Research Interests

I'm currently a Teaching Fellow at Warwick and the Education Coordinator for IFSTAL (Innovative Food Systems Teaching and Learning). Within IFSTAL I work to promote this exciting new programme to a wide range of multi-disciplinary students, coordinate local events and teach aspects of Food Systems on our innovative virtual learning environment (VLE), Moodle.

My background is in archaeology, specialising in archaeobotany (i.e. the study of plant remains from archaeological sites). For over 10 years I have worked with archaeologists in Croatia to sample, recover, analyse and interpret plant remains from a range of archaeological sites ranging from the Neolithic (6000 BC) to the late Middle Ages (16th Century AD). I'm particularly interested in diet and food procurement, whether through gathering, cultivation or trade, and the reconstruction of past farming systems and its link to the socio-economic and environmental landscape.
