Research Interests

Research Fellow: Soil Microbial Diversity and Functioning group.

I have a long-standing interest in the interaction of plants with microbes (particularly pathogens and their potential antagonists or suppressants) and the factors that drive them. In particular I am interested in how plant genotypes influence interactions with and within microbial populations either in the soil / rhizosphere or in the phyllosphere (the above ground parts of plants), with a specific interest in the interactions of endophytic organisms and populations.

Current Project: Yield improvement of oilseed rape through genetic manipulation of rhizosphere exudation
