Warwick Plant Microbiome

The Warwick Plant Microbiome Community comprises of multiple research groups containing a large variety of expertise in both plant sciences and environmental microbiology. The key aim of this group is to determine the role of the plant microbiome is mediating plant health and nutrient acqusition to ensure adaquate food production continues in the face of growing global pressures.

The group is researching the influence of the plant microbiome on various agricultural crops, such as wheat, barley and oil seed rape, as well as using the model organism Arabidopsis. Studies at both the molecular level and field-scale are being employed to better understand ecological interactions taking place in the plant-microbe-soil continuum.
