Aphid mid-summer crash experiment 2011

Treatments include netted, temporary netted (un-netted after 1 week) and un-netted plots with fungicide or pesticide treatment regimes. The experiment takes place once a month for a period of 2 weeks.

By including temporary netting I hope to determine how much of an impact natural enemies and entomopathogenic fungi have on aphid populations by identifying the change in aphid numbers in these plots following 1 week of being un-netted. I will compare aphids numbers from these plots to the permanently netted and un-netted plots.

In addition, there are monitoring plots in a seperate location to identify when the mid-summer crash occurs.
