Conferences I have attended, and any presentations made:

American Society of Mass Spectrometry 60th Annual Conference, May 2012

  • Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
  • The annual ASMS conference is the largest peer-reviewed conference of its type in the world, with over 6000 delegates in attendance each year.
  • Poster presentation: Localisation of Adenine Nucleotides in Mouse Brain Using Ion Mobility Enabled MALDI Imaging(PDF Document)
  • Oral presentation at the Advion Users' Meeting:Improved identification of drug compounds in tissue using a combination of LESA and ion mobility separation.
  • Many thanks to ASMS for their Student Travel Stipend in exchange for working registration at the conference.

American Society of Mass Spectrometry 59th Annual Conference, June 2011

Annual Postgraduate Symposium, University of Warwick, May 2011

  • Held in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Warwick, UK.
  • This annual two-day symposium was a chance to network with other PhD students based in the School of Life Sciences from both campuses. Second year PhD students were asked to present a poster, whilst final year PhD students give a 20 minute oral presentation.
  • Enhanced Selectivity in MALDI-MS Imaging of Drugs in Tissue(PDF Document)

2nd AstraZeneca External Science Collaborations Day, November 2010

  • Held at Sir James Black Conference Centre, AstraZeneca, Alderley Park, Cheshire
  • DMPK Discipline, AstraZeneca UK, Alderley Park.
  • This day conference was a chance to network with other PhD students across the UK who collaborate with AstraZeneca in a number of research disciplines. There were a number of poster and oral presentations given throughout the day by students at different stages in their research.
  • Students were invited to submit either a poster or an oral presentation, I chose to present a poster on the work shown at the British Mass Spectrometry Society Conference from September 2010 (see above).

British Mass spectrometry Society annual conference, September 2010

Imagine, Amsterdam Imaging, February 2010

  • The FOM Institute AMOLF, Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • The Emerging Role of ion mobility MS based Molecular Imaging techniques in the Life Sciences: As part of the official inauguration of the new Molecular Imaging facility at AMOLF, Prof. Ron M.A. Heeren hosted a special seminar event, focusing on the role of MS based Molecular Imaging Technology in Life Science Research.

1st AstraZeneca External Science Collaborations Day, November 2009
