This module aims to offer practical working experience in a number of core techniques in modern biology. It is expected that students will come from widely differing backgrounds and go on to take very different projects. Therefore, the module offers options to allow you to tailor your training to either broaden or reinforce research experience.
In addition to practical research experience, the module will include seminars and workshops with leading researchers to illustrate how each technique is being used by colleagues around the University, and how the results are used and data presented.
Part of the experience will be for the students to report on their own results, to analyse and present their data in a professional format, and to examine the range of formats available in common use.
